The World of Online Malls

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 26, 2006

The emergence of cyberspace has brought a lot of possibilities and comforts especially for shop alcoholics like me who is always in the pursuit of bargains, sales, and discounts. Online shopping and shoppers are very rampant today due to the convenience and low prices it offers. Online Shopping is a means of buying a specific product and availing of services using the internet. People can save a lot of money since they can search for the lowest deal in the market by just clicking the mouse. Furthermore, it saves time and effort as actual shopping would usually require a lot of legwork by going through different boutiques, shops, and flea markets. People at work and at home, can do their own shopping, without the hassle and trouble of actually competing with other people to get the desired sale products. Aside from that, it’s fast, easy, and very practical. In fact, you can discover a lot of low bargain prices in the internet rather than in malls and shops. The features and benefits that online shopping have, entices people to go online and shop.

People using online shopping can pay their bills using a credit card, electronic cash or ecash, debit cards, and cod or cash on delivery basis. Through the internet, a shopper can see various brands of a single product and its features and reviews, which will give the consumers an upper hand and an idea before buying any product on the internet. Some of the common sites to go online shopping are Yahoo, Google, eBay, and Amazon for book addicts.

A lot of people prefer online shopping because some of the rare and hard to find products can be located via online shopping. Although online shopping is truly a blessing for shopping addicts, sometimes, there are unsatisfied consumers for the services and products they availed. Consumers should take note that it’s relevant to shop only from credible online sites. The drawback in shopping online is that you can’t see the actual product that they’re going to deliver you until it arrives on your doorstep. In shopping malls or stores, you can get to choose from other new stocks of the product.

Aside from availing products, one of the unique features and services of online shopping is that it can fulfill your dream vacation escapades. With discount travel sites, you can go to the exotic islands of Caribbean, visit ancient ruins in Greece, or even go with your kids to Disneyland at a low price. Anything is possible with discount travel sites.

Discount travel sites can also inform it’s costumers things like affordable hotels to stay in, sites to visit and cheap restaurants. They can make your vacation truly memorable and affordable. An example of sites for discount travel is expedia.com, which offers maximum vacation pleasure at a minimum price. Their summer getaway includes thirty percent off sale and a rate of $ 93 and above for travel expenses, if they book now for later travel plans. It is beneficial for those who are one hundred percent sure that they will travel.

I always dream of going to Paris and dine in one of their restaurants. When I browsed for discount travel, I found out that Expedia.com offers a lot of features for their Paris shopping travels. Their travel package for Paris trip are the following: a shopping spree in the malls of Paris for eight hours together with a private car, a Loius Vuitton trunk giveaway for your shopping products, four nights stay at the famous Four Seasons Hotel George V Paris, and a dinner for two in the renowned Le Cinq Restaurant. The transportation from the airport to hotel and vice versa is not a problem for it is provided by expedia.com so as to make the travel experience of costumers hassle-free.

The Paris travel packaging of expedia.com is so wonderful. If you are a fashion addict, you can visit designer shops like Dior, *Louis Vuitton*, and Chanel. And if you are a culture vulture, you can visit the Eiffel Tower, Louvre Museum and other historical sites in Paris. And finally, if you just want to experience fine dining, the French way, then eating in their restaurants and coffee shops will be a good idea. The bottom line is this: expedia.com caters to all your needs and wishes just to give you a better service and better travel experience.

When I was a kid, I used to think that there’s no way that I could actually travel, let alone go to Paris, France. I’m just a middle class citizen earning her way to the top, but as soon as I discovered online shopping, I know now that traveling is not next to impossible. I could even travel without the expense of getting a loan, and that I could actually go to places far beyond I could have hoped and dreamed of.

A New Spanish Biography Features the Romance Between The ‘Most Exciting Woman in the world’ and the ‘World’s Greatest Lover’

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) January 2, 2009

Hollywood’s loss of Emmy Award winning actress, singer and dancer, Eartha Kitt, marks the end of an era: when romance was celebrated with style. “I used to get furs and diamonds from men, and they’d open doors for me, lay out the red carpet,” she said in the 2006 New York Times interview included in the new Spanish version of “CHASING RUBI: The Truth About Porfirio Rubirosa The Last Playboy”, due to be released in February of 2009.

CHASING RUBI: The Truth About Porfirio Rubirosa The Last Playboy”, is the first english biography written and publised in 2005 about the notorious Latin Lover and suspeced spy and assassin.

Dubbed the “most exciting woman in the world” by Orson Wells, Eartha Kitt was a self proclaimed “Sex Kitten” whose sultry voice and cat-like purr made her the best of the Catwomen. In the 50s Eartha found herself under the spell of Playboy Diplomat and “International Man of Mystery” Porfirio Rubirosa.

In her autobiography, “I’m still here – Confessions of a sex kitten”, she talks abut her first date with Rubirosa: “Handsome? God, was he handsome! I never had the slightest idea he would actually take me out on the town until a note came to my dressing room while in tour dancing in Paris – ‘I will pick you up tomorrow night after the show for dinner at Maxim’s,’ signed ‘Rubirosa’. The phone rang the next morning: ‘I am calling on behalf of Ambassador Rubirosa,’ the male voice said. ‘He is confirming his request for dinner at Maxim’s tonight. Will that be all right?’”

“‘Oh…uh…I have nothing to wear, ‘l called out. ‘No matter, Mr. Rubirosa has given me instructions to take you wherever you want to go shopping for anything you want – at his expense of course.’… I felt like the heroine of a romantic novel – On our entrance into Maxim’s, the violin quartet violined us to a table with orchids, Dom Perignon champagne and Beluga caviar displayed on ice. A box wrapped in blue paper tied with a blue ribbon and a silk rose attached was on the silver plate in front of where I was beckoned to sit. Rubirosa held the chair back as I placed myself very lady-like in place. Aren’t you going to open your present?’ asked Rubirosa. When I got the box open with all eyes staring at me, the most beautiful string of pearls appeared before me. Simple, chic luxury. My first string of real pearls. I giggled, putting my hands over my mouth to calm my joy.”

Eartha Kitt knew she was dating Porfirio Rubirosa the Dominican diplomat, champion polo player and race car driver, best known for his jet setting lifestyle and legendary prowess with women. Rubirosa counted among his wives and lovers Barbara Hutton, Doris Duke, Zsa Zsa Gabor, Eva Peron, Joan Crawford, Marilyn Monroe, Veronica Lake and Patricia Kennedy, among many others. What Eartha Kitt, did not know is that she was dating a potential spy. Also known as Rubi, he first came to the FBI’s attention when he was forced to sign a pre-nuptial agreement by the US State Department, prior to the ceremony to wed American million heiresses Doris Duke, due to his involvement with Latin dictator Trujillo. In his heyday, Rubirosa hung out with the likes of Frank Sinatra, John F. Kennedy and the who’s who of International Society.

Authors Isabella and Marty Wall, noted Eartha Kitt in their book CHASING RUBI, describing an evening with Rubirosa: “To me this was all a dream, a Hollywood I had missed when I was in Hollywood. Rubirosa was Cary Grant, Errol Flynn, Charles Boyer, Burt Lancaster and Tyrone Power all in one, and I was out on the town with all of them.”

Chasing Rubi, the movie, which will reveal interesting new facts about Rubirosa’s romances, is in pre-production in Los Angeles and the Dominican Republic. http://www.ChasingRubi.com

How You Can Be Recapture Your Inner Cool With WannaBeHip.com – Be First to Know What is Hot and Hip and Happening in the World

(PRWEB) June 3, 2005

WannaBeHip.com has launched an exciting new resource designed to keep people up-to-date on what is hot and hip and happening in the world. Visitors to the site become privy to the inside secrets of being hip, happening, and cool.

Most of us used to possess some modicum of hip. Take Lora and Lisa Moore, the masterminds behind WannaBeHip.com. In their day they salsa-danced at gay bars, ate tapenade, and smoked fine cigars. But then they got caught up in their lives, and somehow they were no longer the first authority on the groovy trends.

Most of us used to be quasi-hip, but quicker than you can say “Oprah,” we were wearing Keds and attending scrapbooking parties. “Actually,” Lisa Moore protests, “I never wore Keds!.” WannaBeHip.com is changing that for people who are reclaiming their inner cool all across the country.

With articles on the latest in food, drink, fashion, and fun, WannaBeHip.com gives you the inside information on what is cool, and links you to other sites where you can make purchases designed to provide you with insta-hip. In an era where “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” and “Sex and the City” are defining style, and where Paris Hilton is famous for nothing but her style and irreverence, WannaBeHip.com helps people incorporate the trends they see in movies, television and magazines into their own lives.

As Lora Moore observes, “It isn’t always easy for people to translate what they see on television or in a magazine into what they actually wear, eat, drink, and do. That is the goal of WannaBeHip.com – to bring people back to the “insider’s” point of view.”

“However,” cautions Lisa Moore, “we aren’t called WannaBeTrendy.com. Hip is an ephemeral idea– it is authentic, irreverent, and fun. Hip is the nifty little secret that you know about before your friends do. It is the hidey-hole restaurant you discover, the retro-revival of the Bee Gees, or the designer splurge.”

WannaBeHip.com is set up to give people instant access to hip ideas in the categories such as food, drinks, lifestyle, fashion, leisure activities, and travel.

For example, if a person is having a dinner party, they might go on to WannaBeHip.com to find a hip cocktail to serve, a cool recipe for the entrée, a cutting edge CD to play for ambience, and interesting fodder for conversation. The site can also act as a personal shopper. For example, an out-of-it aunt may find what her 18 year-old niece would like for Christmas.

People who are already self-professed hipsters may want to log on to submit an idea. WannaBeHip.com sends a t-shirt to the submitter of any idea they use. Visitors to the site may also sign up for the WannaBeHip.com newsletter.

With articles on food, lifestyles, fashion and fun, WannaBeHip lets people in on the hip trends before they hit become mainstream. For more information about WannaBeHip.com, please contact Lisa Moore at (425) 765-0225, or hipstaff@wannabehip.com.

Sofitel Builds a Better World

Dallas (PRWEB) April 23, 2008

Sofitel Luxury Hotels continues to support environmental awareness and do its part to protect the ecosystem with the annual “Earth Guest Week” taking place at Sofitel properties across North America April 21 – 25. In observation of Earth Day, celebrated April 22, Sofitel Luxury Hotels will conduct initiatives and local actions to improve human and environmental conditions to bring lasting change.

Earth Guest Week encourages Sofitel employees and guests alike to focus on preserving the Earth’s resources for future generations. During this unique week, each North American Sofitel property will focus efforts in two sectors: Eco (involving ecological and environmental conservation) and Ego (encompassing volunteer outreach in each community). To plant eco-ideas in guests’ minds, each Sofitel property will leave a packet of seeds for guests as an invitation to “sow seeds for the future with Sofitel.”

To promote ego-centered activities in their respective locations, Sofitel properties will partner with a local humanitarian organization to emphasize the importance of social responsibility to employees and guests, as well as educate on environmental issues. Each North American Sofitel property will engage in the following ego and eco initiatives:

Sofitel San Francisco will participate in annual walks for the fourth year in a row and donate funds raised by employees to the San Francisco AIDS Association. Sofitel San Francisco also continues its participation as the only hotel in Redwood City to actively engage in the city’s Recycled Water Project. The property, which was honored by the WateReuse Association with the 2007 Customer of the Year Award, began using recycled water for all landscaping purposes in 2007 and moves to recycled water for toilets this year.

Sofitel Montreal employees will reach out to the local community by serving dinner at the local Old Brewery Mission, a homeless shelter, on April 22. The hotel employees have also committed to planting 60 laurel trees on the property.

Guests at Sofitel Los Angeles will receive perks and benefits for their “green” efforts during Earth Guest Week. Upon check-in guests will have a donation made in their name to Global Green USA (a national environmental organization). At LeSpa, the Java Jolt will be discounted $ 25; the organic treatment incorporates peppermint and coffee, leaving the body detoxified. Finally, rewarding guests driving a hybrid vehicle, complimentary valet parking will be offered during Earth Guest Week.

Sofitel Miami will host children from the nearby Flagger Middle School on a tour of the hotel with the general manager, director of engineering and the director of housekeeping to demonstrate the hotel’s eco-friendly initiatives and explain how collective efforts can make a difference in the environment. The children will then join the chef for a special organic lunch. The employees at Sofitel Miami will join a gardening representative from a local Home Depot to plant a new tree on the property grounds to commemorate the special week.

To support the local environment, Sofitel Minneapolis reached out to the City of Bloomington to volunteer to clean the road that passes in front of the hotel on Earth Day, April 22. In an ongoing effort to support the community, the property provides resources such as home furniture and goods to Bridges, an organization that provides care for underprivileged persons.

In Chicago, Sofitel Chicago O’Hare has invited local schools, grades K – 12, to participate in a science fair. The fair (for which the hotel is encouraging the students to enter recycling projects) will be for guests and employees to enjoy, topped off with refreshments and prizes for the winners. Sofitel Chicago O’Hare will also begin an ongoing recycling program with blue recycling bins placed in the cafeteria.

Not far down the road at Sofitel Chicago Water Tower, employees will volunteer to clean Washington Square Park to show their commitment to the local community. The local electrical server, Con Edison, will lead a presentation and training for hotel staff on energy-saving techniques. Beginning in 2007 during Earth Guest Week, Sofitel Chicago Water Tower committed to volunteer at a local soup kitchen once each month; the property will recommit to this effort for 2008. A hybrid car will also be displayed at the front of the property during the week to encourage environmental transportation.

Employees at Sofitel Lafayette Square in Washington DC will help the surrounding environment by volunteering to clean nearby Rock Creek Park. On Earth Day, the hotel will be offering a special organic menu during lunch and dinner in the hotel restaurant ICI Urban Bistro, with five percent of the proceeds being donated to Habitat for Humanity. On April 23, the Sofitel Lafayette Square will host children from the Montessori School of Alexandria on a tour of the hotel to highlight its environmental-friendly initiatives.

Sofitel New York will feature a video about environmental issues as well as Earth Day posters in the employee cafeteria. At the hotel restaurant, Gaby, a distinct menu intermingling organic chocolate and produce will be offered on April 22 for guests and restaurant patrons. The hotel will plant new trees in front of Gaby, as well as donate linens and towels to a nearby homeless shelter. Hybrid vehicles will be offered to guests for transportation services.

Also on the East Coast, Sofitel Philadelphia will reach out to the Richard R. Wright Elementary School to clean the school grounds and plant a garden for the children. Employees from Sofitel will also give a presentation on recycling to kindergarteners and first-graders at the school. The property reached out to the Woodstock Family Center to deliver donated clothes and goods.
